Sunderland ‘join’ race for £8.6m Louey Ben Farhat amid Bournemouth, Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt interest | OneFootball

Badische Neueste Nachrichten reports that Sunderland have joined Bournemouth, Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt in tracking Karlsruher SC forward Louey Ben Farhat, who is valued at about €10 million, roughly £8.6 million.

The 20-year-old progressed through FSV Waiblingen and Stuttgarter Kickers before continuing his development at Karlsruhe. He made his senior debut in March 2024, coming off the bench in a 7-0 win over Magdeburg in the 2. Bundesliga.

He signed his first professional contract four months later, then agreed an extension in May 2025.

Born in Germany and of Tunisian descent, Ben Farhat is eligible for both nations and first represented Tunisia at under-20 level. He had been expected to receive a senior call-up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations but was unavailable while recovering from a metatarsal injury that sidelined him for four months.

He made his first senior appearances for Tunisia in March 2026 friendlies against Haiti and Canada. The forward was then left out of the World Cup squad after deciding the tournament had arrived too soon given his recent injury and the physical demands.

Sunderland’s reported interest comes as Florent Ghisolfi continues assessing young players with significant development potential, although the Black Cats face competition from clubs able to offer top-flight or European football.
