Sunderland second-half ratings as Seelt impresses in 5-1 win at York City | OneFootball

Sunderland opened pre-season with a 5-1 win at York City, with defender Jenson Seelt catching the eye after the break. Sunderland Echo rated the second-half performers following wholesale changes at half-time.

An experienced line-up had put the visitors 4-0 up by the interval, before Regis Le Bris introduced a youthful side for the second period. They conceded early but responded through Tom Proctor.

Goalkeeper Simon Moore was rooted as a corner flew straight in soon after the restart, then was steady with little else to do, rated five.

Right-back Jenson Jones stuck to his task defensively and showed neat touches in possession, rated six.

Centre-half Jenson Seelt displayed his experience with a series of timely interventions and looked in excellent condition, rated eight.

Leo Hjelde began solidly but was forced off after an injury while missing a tackle on halfway, leaving in clear discomfort, unrated.
