Sunderland have set out how ticket ballots will work as a three-tier membership went on sale at 10am on Tuesday.

The club said in a Q&A that Season Ticket Plus is for existing season ticket holders, adding bonus content, events and access to an away ballot. Black Cats Adult gives non season ticket holders content, events, a season ticket waiting list and a home ballot. Black Cats Academy mirrors the adult option for children.

Europa League access for season ticket holders is unchanged. Usual cup-ticketing applies, with a priority window, and existing privileges are unaffected.

Home ballots run first for Black Cats Adult and Academy members. Any leftovers go to general sale, which may be rare given last season’s demand.

When entering a ballot, members can select preferred areas or no preference. Seats are auto-assigned to match choices, then checkout is required to confirm.

One membership equals one ticket. Groups can link accounts to apply together, and if adjacent seats are unavailable they can decide whether to proceed.

U16 accounts must link to an adult member. If a junior wins but is not next to their adult, the club can arrange a seat move before the match.

For away games, Black Cat Points continues. 90% of the general admission allocation sits in Phases one and two, with the remaining 10% via ballot depending on the fixture. Any leftovers move to Phase three for points holders.
