Sunderland have reportedly set their stance on Brian Brobbey’s future amid claims of interest from major clubs following his World Cup performances.

"From Sunderland's point of view, though, there's no way they're going to let him go because he's become such an important part of their squad. The manager isn't looking to lose any of his players, because they're in Europe next season and they know they're going to need a strong squad if they want to compete. So they're not going to be letting Brobbey go easily, they want to keep hold of him, and if any club wants to make a move it will have to be a very good one." He was speaking to Football Insider.

Manchester United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are among those said to be monitoring the striker.

The former Ajax forward struck seven in 31 Premier League matches last season as Regis Le Bris’ side finished seventh to secure Europa League football.

Brobbey earned a Netherlands call-up, scoring three goals in three group games, before Ronald Koeman’s side went out on penalties to Morocco in a round-of-32 tie.
