According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland will have a front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026-27 season despite online claims the new home shirt would be sponsorless.
The club unveiled their Hummel home kit on Tuesday without branding. The stripped-back look was well received and fuelled speculation, but the partner will be announced in due course.
The sponsor’s identity has not been confirmed. Supporters who buy shirts before the reveal will be able to add the sponsor later, with process details to follow after the unveiling.
Launching without branding appears to reflect the timing of the agreement, not an intention to go sponsorless. The announcement date is still unclear and the company has not been named.
The deal comes before a pivotal campaign, with Sunderland set to play in the Premier League and Europa League. Boosting commercial income remains central to wider growth plans as Florent Ghisolfi and Régis Le Bris shape the squad for European demands.
