Sunderland are weighing attacking additions, with Kerim Alajbegović on their radar, while developments around Lutsharel Geertruida, Mariano Troilo and Jack Diamond are also in play.
According to Voetbal International, Geertruida currently has no contact with Liverpool, which could aid Sunderland if they move for a permanent deal. The right-back made 30 appearances, totalling 1,865 minutes, on loan from RB Leipzig in 2025-26. He remains under contract until 2029 and is valued at about €20m, around £17.2m.
Alajbegović, 18, impressed for Red Bull Salzburg with 44 outings, 13 goals and four assists, and boosted his reputation with Bosnia’s World Cup push. Bayer Leverkusen have re-signed him, though his long term future is said to be uncertain.
Roma are said to have made contact over a transfer, with a bid around €30m, about £25.9m, discussed. Alajbegović is thought to be open to Italy, but Leverkusen have yet to respond and Sunderland’s interest is not ruled out. Any move would be ambitious given the competition and fee.
Fulham are reportedly preparing a €20m, about £17.2m, offer for Parma centre-back Troilo, who made 23 appearances and scored a San Siro winner against AC Milan. Sunderland have contacted his entourage, but Parma are not under pressure to sell. Signed for about €7m in 2025, Troilo could already deliver a profit.
Former Black Cats winger Diamond is drawing interest after a strong year with Stockport County. Portsmouth and Lincoln City are monitoring the 26-year-old, who registered 15 goal involvements in 2025-26. An academy graduate who featured for Sunderland before leaving, he is now on Championship and League One radars.
