The Blues enter the clash buoyed by our euphoric 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest last time out where Rayan Cherki scored a late winner to seal our eight straight win in all competitions.

However, we’ll need to be at our best to keep that good streak running in on Wearside against a Black Cats side who have enjoyed a strong return to the top-flight this season.

Sunderland currently sit seventh in the table and have lost just one of their last six league matches which was against City at the Etihad in December’s reverse fixture.

All roads lead to an exciting clash at the Stadium of Light and FPL managers will have an eye on proceedings as they look to boost their points score.

Read our latest report fresh from the Scout before Tuesday 30 December’s 18:00 (UK) deadline.

CITY STAR

Tijjani Reijnders (£5.2m) could prove to be a shrewd differential in Gameweek 19 and beyond. The Dutchman has started five of our last six matches and has benefiting from a more advanced role.

Reijnders can often be seen running beyond Erling Haaland (£15.1m) and getting into goal scoring positions.

The result has been three goals in his last four starts. Since Gameweek 14 only two midfielders have scored more goals and only five have had more big chances (three).

ONE TO WATCH

Granit Xhaka (£5.2m) is enjoying a fantastic return to the Premier League with Sunderland. The former Arsenal midfielder produced his fifth assist of the season in GW18. He regularly takes set-pieces and picks up DefCon points.

DIFFERENTIALS

Elsewhere, Kevin Schade (£7.0m) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.8m) are two low-owned gems worth considering this Gameweek.

Brentford’s Schade impressed against Bournemouth, scoring a perfect hat-trick and returning a whopping 20-point haul. Only one midfielder has had more big chances than the German in 2025/26.

Calvert-Lewin is the man of the moment. The Leeds forward has scored seven goals in his last six and will fancy his chances against a Liverpool defence who have kept just two clean sheets in eight.
