Sunderland’s agent-fee bill hit £10,627,772 after promotion, up from £2,170,045 in their final Championship season, yet it remained one of the Premier League’s smallest.

The FA released data covering February 2025 to February 2026. It spans the two windows since their Wembley promotion, including a major summer rebuild, and accounts for contract renewals.

Only Burnley, at £7,357,902, and Everton, at £9,990,374, spent less on agents. Fellow promoted side Leeds United paid £13,990,935.

Bournemouth’s total was £20,883,523 and Brighton’s £19,520,800, while Newcastle United spent just over £20 million. Chelsea led the division on £65,102,247, with overall Premier League outlay at £460,300,308.

The figures reflect 17 signings across the period, plus renewals for Trai Hume, Eliezer Mayenda, Luke O’Nien and Chris Rigg. They cover any transaction involving an FA-registered agent.
