Away results have been patchy, with the Black Cats seeking a third win in their last 13 league trips. Highlights include victory at Chelsea and a landmark success at Newcastle United.

Across the league, Arsenal lead the away standings on 35 points, with Manchester City on 32. Everton are sixth on 26, while Wolverhampton Wanderers have five.
