Sunderland’s squad valuation has surged since their Premier League return, and a highest valued starting XI underlines the extent of the rebuild. According to Sunderland Echo, the model line-up is compiled using TransferMarkt valuations.
After last year’s Championship play-off final, the hierarchy launched an ambitious recruitment drive that reshaped Regis Le Bris’ squad. Club-record fees brought in Habib Diarra and Enzo Le Fee, while Robin Roefs, Brian Brobbey and Granit Xhaka also arrived.
The most valuable XI is: goalkeeper Robin Roefs €25.00m; right-back Lutsharel Geertruida €20.00m; left-back Trai Hume €22.00m; centre-backs Nordi Mukiele €18.00m and Dan Ballard €20.00m.
In midfield, Noah Sadiki €30.00m, Habib Diarra €32.00m and Chris Rigg €25.00m. The front line features Chemsdine Talbi €25.00m and Enzo Le Fee €25.00m out wide, with Brian Brobbey €25.00m through the middle.
Two key men miss out on valuation alone, Wilson Isidor at €18.00m, despite five Premier League goals, and Granit Xhaka at €10.00m. Other notable valuations include Eliezer Mayenda €18.00m, Nilson Angulo €17.00m and Omar Alderete €15.00m, with Dennis Cirkin and Romaine Mundle at €8.00m.
Le Bris and his players host Chelsea on Sunday, still with a chance to secure European football for only the second time in the club’s history and the first since 1973.
