Sunderland’s psychic pony has made another call, selecting an England win over Panama in Saturday’s final World Cup group match. According to Sunderland Echo, Penshaw’s Princess has been handed a last chance after two wayward predictions.

The 19-year-old Shetland, also known as Shannon, undertook the ritual at Penshaw Equestrian Centre, choosing between bowls marked win, draw and lose. She went straight for the win.

She had been asked to foresee last week’s meeting with Ghana, but that pick was off as the game finished level. There was a playful nod to her Scottish roots, but the match ended in a draw.

Penshaw Equestrian Centre manager Anneli Davidson said Shannon is now fully on board and they are thrilled she has gone for a win.

England play Panama at 10pm UK time. Whether Shannon’s latest tip lands remains to be seen.
