Penshaw’s Princess, Sunderland’s so-called psychic pony, has picked England to beat Congo in their first World Cup knockout tie.
According to Sunderland Echo, the 19-year-old Shetland at Penshaw Equestrian Centre was presented with two labelled feed bowls to choose win or lose.
She opted for the win, a light-hearted boost for Three Lions fans rather than any guarantee.
The pony correctly called England’s victory over Panama last week and is known at the riding school for never missing feed time.
With England advancing as group winners, every fixture from here is knockout, so the test was kept to a simple two-bowl call.
England face Congo at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday, 1 July, with kick-off at 5pm UK time.
