A super fast winger is the perfect option for Liverpool.
Speed. Speed. Speed.
Arne Slot and most of the journalists connected to Liverpool have been banging on about the need for the Reds to add more pace upfront.
A year with a declining Mohamed Salah and a Cody Gakpo, who seems to have lost his sharpness in this area has made Liverpool look far too predictable and vulnerable in attack.
Defending comes from the front. In modern football, it's the attackers who will press and who begin the defensive structure. So, it's understandable that in an optimal system you want attackers, especially wingers who are fast and who can react to losing the ball at rapid speeds and get back into shape.
This hasn't been happening at Liverpool.
On top of that, there has been massive concerns going forward as well. Even last season, Arne Slot's tactics seemed to have been found out by teams.
Liverpool wanted to provide a solution for him last summer with the addition of more attacking talent in order to counter the low-blocks they continue to encounter.
However, Slot has not been given the necessary ingredients to make this work. He needs runners, who can run in behind defences and who have the pace to cause problems, while also being capable facilitators to provide chances for Alexander Isak.
Two of the players high on Liverpool's shortlist are Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola, who are both seen as players that can offer exactly what Slot needs.
However, as their situations develop, it's becoming increasingly unlikely that either player will end-up at Liverpool.
Diomande seems content at RB Leipzig and happy to repay the faith they placed in him when they purchased him from Leganes. Considering he is still very young, he is right to not be in a rush to leave the German side when he has only really had one full season in professional football.
On the other hand, Barcola is the subject of interest from other major sides including Arsenal. Liverpool's interest appears to be fading for the Frenchman and right now there is no competition as to who Barcola would favour - the Gunners are the clear favourites.
The prospect of playing for Slot's Liverpool, who are in such a dire state at the moment won't appeal to many of the truly elite options.
Liverpool will therefore have to shop outside of the mainstream and find under the radar gems.
But this isn't necessary a concern - because there is a special and talented winger who perfect fits the bill of what Liverpool are looking for right now.
The next best player on the list after Barcola and Diomande is Bazoumana Toure, and he would be an astute addition because he's exactly what Liverpool need.
Toure is super fast - he's one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga, clocking in a top-speed of over 36km/h. At 20-years-old, he is full of intensity having made the most sprints (763) in the German top flight this season.
He has the best dribble completion rate out of players who average at least 4.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga (69%) and he's very good at running down the touchline.
Toure is this facilitator. He has the fourth most assist in the Bundesliga and averages the second most crosses (5.32 per 90 minutes).
He's the type of player who will continue to make runs down the wings and look to find his teammates inside the box.
It's why Toure is so perfect - the likes of Isak and Ekitike need someone like that, who will provide them with a high volume of chances so they can score a high number of goals.
At such a young age, he can be moulded into anything and further developed. Looking at the winger market at the moment, Toure is one of the best options the club have available to them.
And it's why Toure is the one for the Reds.
