Mile Svilar enjoyed a stellar season with Roma.
The goalkeeper stood out with sensational saves that earned the Roman club several extra points, and was a key figure in the Giallorossi’s bid for fourth place.
Statistics crown him the best goalkeeper in Serie A: with a 77% save percentage (104 out of 135 shots faced), he is the best among his peers. And in the last few hours, the Lega Serie A has also recognized him, announcing the season’s MVPs via its social media channels.
Svilar has repeated his feat, and for the second consecutive year, he has been named Serie A’s best goalkeeper of the season. Marco Palestra, among the defenders, Nico Paz among the midfielders, and Lautaro Martinez, as the league’s best striker, also received awards.
The latter nearly lost out to Donyell Malen, who, upon his arrival in January, came within a whisker of topping the scoring charts. However, with his 17 goals, the number 10 secured first place and the title of best centre-forward.
