Swansea City welcome Middlesbrough to South Wales in the Championship tonight, aiming to put another dent in the visitors’ promotion hopes.

The Swans are without a win in three games but showed spirit to recover from 3-1 down and claim a draw at Sheffield United on Friday.

Middlesbrough arrive in need of a positive result. Boro have failed to win in four and dropped out of the automatic promotion places after losing to Millwall last time out.

Vítor Matos will again be without Zeidane Inouss, who is not expected to return until the end of the month. The winger was sidelined for an estimated 12-week period in January due to a stress fracture in his back.

The onus will again fall on Melker Widell and Ronal to provide the ammunition for Zan Vipotnik. Despite Swansea sitting 16th in the Championship table, the Slovenian striker is the second-tier’s leading scorer with 18 goals.

“If I’m honest, I would say the Golden Boot is on my mind,” he said on Friday.

“But I know how the league is. There’s not many games left to go and anything can change, I just want to keep taking it game by game and keep helping the team.”
