Talks at Zubieta as Pellegrino Matarazzo renewal nears and market under review | OneFootball

Real Sociedad began pre-season on Sunday with an open session at Zubieta, as focus turned to Pellegrino Matarazzo's future and recruitment.

Players signed autographs for supporters, and president Jokin Aperribay, sporting director Erik Bretos and Matarazzo were seen talking on the far side. According to AS, their conversation likely touched on the coach's renewal, described as practically done, and on transfer plans.

Matarazzo is contracted until the end of the current season. Bretos said a couple of weeks ago that the club were delighted with his work, saw him as their long-term choice, and that talks to extend were progressing. The renewal is thought to be close.

The club are working on at least three additions. So far the only movement is Brais Méndez's transfer to MLS, with further exits expected. Real Sociedad aim to bolster both defence and attack.

Meanwhile Pacheco and Javi López hope to convince the coach to keep them in the squad during pre-season. They know this is their chance, as do Sanse's youngsters.
