Talks underway: Marseille interested in Club Brugge defender Joel Ordoñez | OneFootball

Marseille have shown interest in Club Brugge defender Joel Ordoñez, according to HLN. Talks with the blue-blacks are underway for the 21-year-old Ecuadorian.

While the Ardon Jashari and AC Milan fiasco is progressing only slowly, several key players from Club Brugge are still making waves in the transfer market. Centre-back Ordoñez, for example, is apparently one of Olympique Marseille’s top targets.

Just as with Jashari, Club Brugge have set the bar high for Ordoñez. In principle, he reportedly cannot leave for less than €30 million. It remains to be seen whether Marseille, whose incoming transfer record stands at €32 million, is willing to cough up that amount.

Since his arrival from Independiente del Valle in his home country, Ordoñez has worked his way through the Club NXT ranks to make 83 first-team appearances. In this time, he helped Club Brugge win 2024-25’s Belgian Cup. He also has seven caps for Ecuador.
