Tarik Muharemovic has delivered his first message as a Leeds United player, outlining what he will bring and vowing he is ready for the fight at Elland Road.
Two and a half weeks after losing Pascal Struijk to Brighton in a £20m deal, Leeds paid £34m to sign the Bosnia and Herzegovina defender from Sassuolo on a five-year contract. Only the £34.5m for Georginio Rutter was higher.
Muharemovic helped Sassuolo to an 11th-placed finish, then starred for his country at the World Cup, and has now shared his first words as a Leeds player.
The player said in a post that: “My name is Tarik Muharemovic. I join the club that is built on commitment. Hard work in the fire of defence. That is what has brought me here. That is the mentality I share. Win your battles. Stay calm under pressure. And always keep fighting. I’m ready. Marching on Together.”
His introduction centred on commitment, battles and calm under pressure, aligning with the identity he described.
