Tomorrow, with a packed Estadio Jalisco, there will be one vital ingredient for Guadalajara: the unity between team and fans. This Saturday night, Chivas will look to punch its ticket to another Liga MX Final in its second home, hand in hand with the Rojiblanca Nation, which will play its part from the stands of the Coloso de la Calzada Independencia.
So far, this is the most important match of the Clausura 2026 for the Rebaño, which, of course, will not abandon its footballing identity and will rely on every advantage it has to reach the title series of the top flight. That’s what Ángel Sepúlveda assured in the mixed zone before Chiverío’s open training session at the Jalisco.
What the ‘Cuate’ told the media
“There are many things the team has done well with the fans. Throughout the tournament we enjoyed every home game; the team is very hungry, very united, and we know the responsibility we have.”
“It’s something we worked on; the team continues to show that it’s prepared, that it wants to succeed and be at the top. Step by step, all together: that’s what we need to reach the Final.”
“I used to watch Chivas matches at the Jalisco. Now it’s our second home and we have to make ourselves felt and respected there. We watched our idols play here, we have so many memories from television, and now it’s our turn to write our own.”
“The goal is to play a great match and win the series. We know a draw is enough, but we’re not thinking about that; the team wants to win and enjoy it. If I can crown it with a goal to help my team reach another Final, I’d be delighted.”
“We knew this liguilla would bring opportunities because of the absences, but we are a team that works to be ready at the right moment. We’re supporting ‘Sando,’ we’re going to back him up, and he’s enjoying it to the fullest.”
“I always highlight the collective. As a striker, you need your whole team to score goals. You work individually to contribute to the collective; I came here to leave a mark. I never doubted it when they presented me with the opportunity, and today I’m enjoying it.”
“It’s my way of working, of playing matches, and of contributing wherever I’m needed. To set the example of never stopping fighting at any moment. We are united, the team wants more; tomorrow will be a great night.”
“The idea was clear: regardless of the names, the team worked toward the same objective. I got to see it from the outside at one point, and that was the first thing that motivated me; their model, their style of play, and Chivas also did its part to bring me here.”
“For me, the way you do things matters a lot. You’ll always be closer when you play well, when you don’t hold back, and when you go out to win the match. Today we are the reflection of all that.”
