Graham Potter is delighted with his side’s progress this pre-season as we get ready to take on Lille at the London Stadium today.

West Ham go into the game off the back of a positive victory over Bournemouth in the US, with belief and hope rising ahead of the new season which kicks off next week.

Speaking to the club’s Official Website, the Hammers boss admits that Lille will be a tough test, but an important one before we get set to take on Sunderland in the Premier League next weekend.

“I think the Lille game is going to be another good, competitive test for us,” stated Potter. “They’re high quality opposition, who will be playing in Europe next season, so we’re looking forward to getting out there and taking that final step towards being ready for the big trip to Sunderland.”

Potter is thrilled with how his players have come together this summer, with a growing sense that West Ham could be set to spring a surprise on many this season.

“As a group, we’ve enjoyed being able to spend a lot of time developing a really good team spirit,” added Potter.

“The players and staff are really connected, and there’s a lot of togetherness in the group.

“We’re really happy with the environment, and really happy with the culture, and hopefully that will only continue to grow as we go forward.”
