Ted Lasso actor Cristo Fernandez signs for El Paso Locomotive in USL | OneFootball

El Paso Locomotive, the Texas club, have signed Cristo Fernandez, 35, the club said in a statement on Tuesday.

Fernandez will play as a forward, mirroring Dani Rojas, the fictional footballer he portrayed in the series.

His character featured across three seasons from 2020 to 2023.

Before acting, Fernandez played in the junior ranks at Tecos FC in Mexico, but stopped at 15 because of injury.

El Paso are fourth in the Western Conference with four wins, three defeats and two draws.

The United Soccer League runs the second and third tiers in the United States.
