Téji Savanier confirms Montpellier exit and says the story continues | OneFootball

Téji Savanier has confirmed his departure from Montpellier, a day after his contract expired on Tuesday.

The player said in a post that a chapter closed at midnight. He called Montpellier far more than just a club, a city that saw him grow, stumble and rise again, with faces he will never forget, a family.

An academy product, Savanier, 34, has been in the first team since 2019 after spells at Arles-Avignon and Nîmes. He made 210 appearances for Montpellier, scoring 50 goals and supplying 38 assists.

In early May, the former captain finished in tears after his last match at La Mosson.

He will not retire, and he gave no hint of his next destination.
