Wow, The Daily Telegraph have just made one of the boldest and most premature claims I have ever heard about Liam Delap!
The news comes after Chelsea beat ES Tunis 3-0 over night in the Club World Cup in America after Blues head coach Enzo Maresca named a rotated starting Xl to rest a few players.
Chelsea needed to avoid a defeat to progress to the knockout rounds of the competition, and they did that with ease in the end against an opposition that they were just much better than in terms of quality.
Marc Cucurella got a deserved rest in the game, with Josh Acheampong starting at left back instead, but before the game, the Spanish international was expecting another tough game. But it was far from that for Chelsea in the end.
Liam Delap got his first Chelsea goal and how he took it was a fine strikers goal. Delap collected the ball, was strong to muscle the defender off, skipped it inside and curled a lovely little controlled shot into the corner of the goal.

Delap hasn’t even started the season with Chelsea yet and has only played a couple of games, The Telegraph need to calm down with their over-hyping article and just let the lad settle in with less pressure.
Jason Burt of the outlet wrote:
“Liam Delap appears to be Chelsea’s best centre-forward since Diego Costa – who wore number 19 – and has a lot more finesse out on the pitch.
“Nico Jackson will have a job displacing Delap and Chelsea already look a far more cohesive threat with Delap leading the line.
“The curse is over. Chelsea have their number 9, wearing the number 9, looking like a number 9, playing like a number 9.
“There should be no more concerns over that shirt harming careers as happened from Fernando Torres to Alvaro Morata. Liam Delap is the real deal.”
