Zian Flemming struck deep into stoppage time to rescue a crucial point for Burnley as 10-man Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

It had looked routine for the hosts early on. Chelsea needed just four minutes to edge in front, Moisés Caicedo threading a precise pass into Pedro Neto, who squared for João Pedro to tap in from close range.

The Blues controlled much of the first half but failed to turn that dominance into a second goal. Cole Palmer squandered a golden opportunity after capitalising on a loose pass, while other efforts were blocked as Burnley clung on.

The contest shifted dramatically in the 72nd minute when Wesley Fofana received his second yellow card for a rash challenge, reducing Chelsea to 10 men and handing Burnley renewed belief.

From that moment, the visitors sensed an opportunity. Chelsea retreated, and Burnley pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence paid off in the 93rd minute when Flemming rose unmarked to power home a header from a James Ward-Prowse corner.

It was a bitter blow for Chelsea, who once again dropped points from a winning position, while Burnley claimed a valuable draw in their fight for survival.
