Holstein Kiel started the game off on the back foot and had less possession but they managed an early shot via Finn Porath’s attempt was saved by Gregor Kobel.

In the 88th minute, Nico Schlotterbeck’s header from close range was saved by Holstein Kiel’s Timon Weiner.

To seal the game, ten-men Kiel scored a breakaway goal via substitute striker Fiete Arp as Gregor Kobel was caught outside of his goal as he went up for the final corner of the game.

This goal marked a historic victory for Holstein Kiel, with it being their first against Borussia Dortmund ever.
