Terzic’s Athletic set for Bizkaia pre-season tour | OneFootball

Edin Terzic’s Athletic will launch pre-season with a trio of local friendlies across Bizkaia against affiliated clubs, designed to bring the team closer to supporters.

According to as.com, the opener is on Wednesday 15 July in Portugalete at La Florida against CD Derio, coached this season by former Athletic player Iker Muniain, a Tercera Federación side that contested a promotion play-off.

Athletic then face SD Leioa at Sarriena on Saturday 18, a fixture set to mark the town’s 500th anniversary.

The tour concludes on Wednesday 22 with a visit to Sestao River at Las Llanas, a historic club currently in Segunda Federación with Aitor Larrazabal as sporting director.

All three games kick off at 19:30. The squad will be based at Lezama, with further friendlies planned outside Euskadi to assess a group of around 37 players.
