Ranking the top 15 stadium sizes in League One for the 2025/26 season
The League One season is proving extremely competitive at the top of the table, with only a handful of points separating the several sides chasing promotion to the Championship.
Meanwhile, there are also a number of clubs still in danger of being involved in a relegation battle at the bottom of the third division.
Teams will be hoping that their home support can play a key role in achieving their respective ambitions for 2025/26.
One side in the division looking to increase their stadium’s capacity is Luton Town, who are moving away from Kenilworth Road.
The Hatters confirmed earlier this year that they will be moving to Power Court, which will increase their capacity to 25,000.
It is hoped the club will have the project finished in time for the first game of the 2028/29 campaign.
Here we take a look at the 15 biggest stadiums in the division amid Luton Town’s plans to replace Kenilworth Road with this 25,000-seater ground (all figures taken from Football Ground Map)…

Lincoln City earned an 11th place finish in League One last season, coming 17 points behind sixth place Leyton Orient.
But a strong start to this campaign under Michael Skubala has supporters hoping of a sustained promotion push into 2026.
The Imps have the 15th biggest stadium in the division, just above Luton Town, with a capacity of 10,669, so it would be quite an achievement to earn a top six finish.

Stockport County were promotion contenders last year, missing out on a place in the Championship with a play-off semi-final loss to Charlton Athletic.
Dave Challinor’s side, who play in a 10,852 capacity ground known as Edgeley Park, will be aiming to go one step further and win a place in the second tier.

Rotherham United were in the Championship as recently as 2024, but their attempts to get back into the division fell flat last season.
The New York Stadium holds a capacity of 12,021, making it the 13th biggest among the 24 clubs in League One in this campaign.

Peterborough United’s most recent foray into the Championship came as recently as 2022, but they could be at risk of relegation to League Two in 2026 based on their current form.
London Road’s capacity of 14,319 makes it the 12th biggest ground in the division, so relegation would be quite a disappointing result for their campaign.

Doncaster Rovers are back in League One after winning the League Two title last season, and they will be hoping to maintain their place in the division beyond just one year.
The Keepmoat Stadium can hold up to 15,231 supporters, so they fit right in as the 11th biggest ground in League One.

Bloomfield Road hosted Premier League football as recently as 2011, and Championship football only as far back as 2023.
The Seasiders’ home ground can host up to 17,338 supporters, putting it inside the top 10 stadium sizes in League One for this campaign.

Plymouth Argyle are back in League One after suffering relegation in the previous campaign, and they could even be in danger of relegation again in 2026.
Regardless, Home Park ranks ninth in the division for ground size, with a capacity of 17,441.

Port Vale are another club at risk of relegation to League Two in these early stages of the season, having been promoted from the fourth tier last season.
Their home stadium, Vale Park, has a capacity of 19,052, making it the biggest ground below 20,000 in the division.

Oakwell Stadium is then the smallest stadium in League One with a capacity greater than 20,000, with the Tykes capable of hosting 23,009 supporters.
The Yorkshire outfit will be hoping to be competing for promotion to the Championship in 2026.

Reading have endured a tricky few years, but are now coming out the other side of their financial issues under new owner Rob Couhig.
And the Royals rank sixth in League One for their stadium size, as they can host up to 24,161 fans at their home games.
