Viktor Gyokeres has broken the 20-goal barrier during his debut season at Arsenal.

The Swedish striker has faced criticism during his first season with the Gunners, with heavy scrutiny on his performances in North London.

Gyokeres signed for Arsenal from Sporting CP for a fee in the region of £64m last summer, having scored 97 goals in 102 games for the Portuguese side.

His arrival ended Arsenal's long search for a centre-forward and, after a sluggish start, the 27-year-old has started to find the net with regularity.

Gyokeres has now scored 21 goals in all competitions, a return that has helped Mikel Arteta's team to the top of thePremier League, and to a first Champions League final for two decades.

In fact, Gyokeres is enjoying one of the most prolific debut seasons in Arsenal history. Only nine players have ever scored more goals than the Swede in their first season with the club, with just two of those coming during thePremier League era.

Gyokeres still has four games to improve his haul, though would need a remarkable finish to surpassJoe Baker.

Baker signed for Arsenal for a then-club record fee of £70,000 from Torino in 1962 and scored 31 goals in all competitions. He was the club's top scorer in three of his four seasons in North London and netted 100 goals in 156 games for the Gunners.
