Everton have expressed interest in a loan move for Tyrique George, but expect to face significant competition according to The Athletic.

George was promoted to the first team squad by Enzo Maresca last season, and scored some important goals towards the end of the season in both the Premier League and Conference League.

However, Chelsea made five attacking signings last summer, which pushed George down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Everton interested in Tyrique George loan move

George saw a £22m deadline day move to Fulham fall through last summer, and he’s been used very sparingly by both Maresca and Liam Rosenior this season.

The 19-year-old has scored three goals in 11 appearances in all competitions this season, including his first in the Champions League.

It’s expected the youngster will leave this month, and George has reportedly been offered to both Roma and Napoli.

However, there’s interest from the Premier League, and The Athletic have reported Everton are the latest team to have shown interest in a loan deal for George.

The report adds the Toffees expect to face significant competition from clubs in England and around Europe.

Everton are likely to be without Jack Grealish for the remainder of the season, and are looking for a replacement for the England international.

Raheem Sterling has left Chelsea

Whilst George could leave Chelsea before the end of the window, one winger who’s now left the club is Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea and Sterling came to an agreement on Wednesday to terminate the remainder of his contract, and the England international is now a free agent.

Reportedly as many as seven Champions League clubs have shown an interest in signing Sterling, who despite reports is thought to be open to a move abroad.

Chelsea will no doubt be relieved to get his wages of in excess of £300,000 per week off their books, and can now look to invest that money elsewhere.
