‘The best thing that could happen’ – Barcelona summer sale confirms return hopes | OneFootball

Sergi Domínguez, who brought a close to his time on the books of La Liga champions Barcelona over the summer, has revealed his hopes of one day taking his talents back to Catalunya’s capital.

Defender Domínguez for his part sat down for an interview with Diario Sport this week.

During as much, the 20-year-old was asked what his personal ‘goal’ is for the medium-term.

And Domínguez did not hesitate in making clear his desire to one day pull on the red and blue of Barcelona once again, explaining:

”My goal is to return home, I have everything in Barcelona. The ultimate goal would be to play for Barça again. It’s difficult, but I’ll try as hard as anyone else. I have everything there, house, friends, family. It would be the best thing that could happen to me. But I must prove it, play and if the opportunity comes, hopefully. If not, let’s continue. Obviously, to become an elite professional player, to establish myself and be a good centre-back, that’s the closest goal. But the end is to play for Barça. But to do that I have to accumulate minutes and prove.”

Domínguez – who managed five appearances for Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana last season – has for his part already established himself as a key figure in the backline of new club Dinamo Zagreb.

Across the term to date, the youngster has racked up 14 appearances in all competitions, all of them as a starter.
