The Celtic Board is stale and out of both ideas and ambition

Celtic needs change, the current board without fresh faces, is stale and out of both ideas and ambition., They are frightened to do anything that would threaten that huge bank balance that they have while forgetting where most of that money came from and why it was so willingly handed over.

The roof is a vital component of any home as it keeps out the elements and stops rot from spreading throughout the entire structure. Some houses have very old and dated roofs that are in dire need of repair to keep the family home in good condition and thus increasing its worth.

Celtic are in a similar position at this moment in time, with the board being the proverbial roof that needs sorted or replaced from scratch to give our club a freshness and more reliable structure which would guarantee us a brighter future.

And after that patronising statement release on Saturday night, which in turn led to an overwhelming vote of no-confidence in the board by the Celtic Supporters Association, that has been made more clearer than ever before.

The club need change starting at the very top to give us a more optimistic outlook going forward. We have the necessary wealth and resources to push our club to reach the heights it’s well capable of achieving.

Our current custodians have become content with their lot, and are too interested in making themselves rich than taking our club to the next level. There will be no replacement project on the Main Stand while Celtic are in the SPFL. The hotel project has been abandoned and the museum project kicked into the long grass.

What is the next level? That would be investing our wealth as opposed to hoarding it, and back whoever happens to be the manager in the transfer market. We also badly need to dramatically change our strategy when it comes to negotiating transfer fees and salaries.

We can’t just stop there, we need more investment in the stadium, as well as a huge focus on scouting and youth development. We need a better communication with the supporters, such as a fans representative on the board along with a host of fresh enthusiastic, and ambitious figureheads, a experienced and a competent sporting director to deal with all aspects of transfer activity is also badly needed.

A host of fresh faces, and new ideas as opposed to the current model of ‘it’s not what you is know, but who you know’ is the way forward.

The rot is starting to set in from the top down, and now is the time for that to be challenged head on. Sweeping changes are needed for Celtic’s sake, and sooner rather than later. That starts with re-setting the now fractured relationship with the Celtic support. Answering questions properly rather than treating us like mugs. Before that happens it’s going to be tough going for everyone who is Celtic minded, regardless of where they stand on the current controversy or where they sit in that ageing stadium we call Paradise.
