CF Monterrey, also known as Rayados, qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup by winning the CONCACAF Champions League in 2021.

History at the Club World Cup

This will be Rayados' sixth time at the Club World Cup with their most recent coming in 2021. The Mexican side have never got past the semi-finals of the competition, losing in the final four in 2012 and 2019.

How did they perform in the 2024/25 season?

Monterrey came runners-up in 2024's Apertura tournament but in this year's Clausura, the Mexican giants are currently seventh in the table. On the continental front, they were knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions League by finalists Vancouver.

Sergio Ramos is undoubtedly Monterrey's standout player. Joining the club in early 2025, the UEFA Champions League and World Cup winner has brought a wealth of experience from his time with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla.

Expected performance at the Club World Cup

Drawn against Urawa Red Diamonds, River Plate and Inter, Monterrey will likely be juking out for second place behind the Italian giants. Anything after that will be considered a bonus for the Liga MX outfit.
