Liam Rosenior keeps pointing out he’s not had time to work with his players – but there’s no evidence time will help him anyway.

Chelsea are getting worse under Liam Rosenior. That’s what the stats say, and the eye test agrees. The Athletic’s piece about his future points to one fact that should worry fans more than anything else:
“Rosenior had two clear midweeks in late February and again ahead of the Manchester City match on Sunday to work on his tactics, Simon Johnson writes.
“The return from the three league games that followed — Burnley, Arsenal and Manchester City? One point.”
To us, this is the most damning statistic of all. Rosenior has pointed out every time he’s asked about his future that he arrived in January and had a flurry of games to contend with, with little time to work on the training pitch.
That’s true, and fair. But given the stat above, why should we believe that more time with him is going to make the team better?
This isn’t just about developing players individually or even working on team tactics. It’s about match preparation for individual games.
All the briefs out there right now are claiming that Liam Rosenior is safe as Chelsea boss even if he can’t guide the team into the Champions League.
Simon Jordan is a fan of Liam Rosenior, but is also very clear on why it was a mistake to appoint him as Chelsea boss in this moment.
