Six current Eintracht players are definitely going to the World Cup, while two others are waiting to see if they make the cut. All the info, deadlines and group fixtures at a glance.
The highlight of the football calendar is fast approaching. From 11 June to 19 July 2026, the 23rd FIFA World Cup will take place in Canada, Mexico and USA. As things stand, up to eight Eintracht Frankfurt players could be involved in the tournament. Two others will be touring the world for friendlies, while there are set to be three clashes between club teammates.
Six on the plane
Aurèle Amenda (Switzerland), Farès Chaibi (Algeria), Nathaniel Brown (Germany), Ritsu Doan (Japan), Ellyes Skhiri (Tunisia) and Arthur Theate (Belgium) all have their places confirmed. In addition, Elye Wahi, who’s currently out on loan, will be heading to North America with Ivory Coast.
Amaimouni-Echghouyab and Uzun on provisional rosters
Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab and Can Uzun are in the provisional squads for Morocco and Türkiye respectively. Before the warm-up friendlies ahead of the tournament, the duo will be trying to stake their claim in their respective teams’ training camps, which both started on 22 May. The national associations must submit their final squads of between 23 and 26 players between 25 May and 1 June.
Friendlies for Kristensen and Kosugi
Rasmus Kristensen (Denmark) and Keita Kosugi (Japan U23s) side have also been called up for international duty.
Club colleagues reunited
Theate and Belgium will take on Skhiri and Tunisia in a warm-up match. In the World Cup group stage, Brown and Germany face Wahi and Ivory Coast, while Skhiri meets Doan and Japan.
