A proposed strongest Leeds United starting XI for the relegation run-in aims to spark the attack and underpin Premier League survival.

Leeds have seven games left and 33 points from 31, four clear of the drop and ahead of West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke’s side are well placed to stay up if they can rediscover a cutting edge.

Goals have dried up with no strike in the last four league matches. An incorrect dismissal and a clear penalty not given have not helped, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not been as prolific.

That could change after the break, with Noah Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson returning. With those two back, the suggested XI is designed to get Leeds scoring and see them over the line.

In goal, Karl Darlow has steadied things since replacing Lucas Perri, producing big saves, using the ball better and instilling confidence in the defence.

Joe Rodon has logged more Premier League minutes than any teammate and his athleticism suits covering behind or stepping into a hybrid right-back role. Jaka Bijol is the combative, box-first defender and a major set-piece threat. Pascal Struijk can defend on the front foot and is key to building play as the only left-footed centre-back.

At right wing-back, Jayden Bogle gets the nod for extra attacking thrust. James Justin has been excellent, but Bogle is more comfortable pushing higher when Rodon shuffles wide.
