The Brazilian has missed the last three Premier League games as well as the win against Wrexham and defeat to PSG.

There’s big pressure on the game, with Chelsea needing a response after Wednesday night, and the Blues need the points in the race for Champions League football.

Liam Rosenior confirms Estevao will miss Newcastle game

Estevao has had a good first season in England, and has managed seven goals and three assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.

The 18-year-old has shown moments of magic, and will be desperate to play a part in the important end of season fixtures.

However, Rosenior has confirmed the Brazil international will miss the game against the Magpies, and stated the club want to be careful with the winger.

“Estevao is still a little bit further away,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“We want to be careful with Estevao because of the nature of his hamstring injury.

“The last thing we want to do is rush him back and see the injury recurring.

“So, we will see what he’s like for Tuesday’s game against PSG.”

Jamie Gittens returns from injury

Whilst Estevao could return against PSG next week, one player who’s now back is Jamie Gittens following his own hamstring injury.

Gittens has missed the last five league games, and his return is a welcome boost at this critical stage of the season.

Rosenior confirmed the news in his pre-match press conference:

“Jamie is back involved, which is great news.”

With the games coming thick and fast and the Blues still in the FA Cup, having as many players available as possible is going to be key.
