The storied stages of Italian football may soon welcome a new protagonist. In a move that could see him write a fresh chapter in his career, veteran German striker Niclas Füllkrug is on the cusp of his maiden adventure in Serie A.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Lasha Kokiashvili, a significant step has been taken toward this transfer. Kokiashvili states, "Italian side Milan have reached a preliminary agreement with 32-year-old West Ham forward Niclas Füllkrug for a move in the upcoming winter transfer window."

The proposed deal would see the experienced center-forward arrive at the San Siro on a temporary basis, with a view to a permanent stay. Kokiashvili's report specifies that "Füllkrug will join Milan on loan with an option to buy, and the player has already given his approval."

The final act of this transfer saga is imminent. It is understood that the decisive round of negotiations between the two clubs is scheduled for this very week, with a definitive outcome expected to follow swiftly.

Füllkrug's potential departure from London comes just months after his high-profile arrival. West Ham secured his services from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for a fee of €27 million. Since joining the "Hammers," he has made 32 appearances, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists. His current contract with the Premier League club extends until 2028, though his estimated market value, as per Transfermarkt, now stands at €8 million.
