According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Lasha Kokiashvili, a significant step has been taken toward this transfer. Kokiashvili states, "Italian side Milan have reached a preliminary agreement with 32-year-old West Ham forward Niclas Füllkrug for a move in the upcoming winter transfer window."

The proposed deal would see the experienced center-forward arrive at the San Siro on a temporary basis, with a view to a permanent stay. Kokiashvili's report specifies that "Füllkrug will join Milan on loan with an option to buy, and the player has already given his approval."

Füllkrug's potential departure from London comes just months after his high-profile arrival. West Ham secured his services from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for a fee of €27 million.
