In the last two years, the FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has grown up to become one of the best players in Europe, and has already proven his talents despite still being only 18 years of age.

And this is not only empty talk, as numbers also back up the immense impact he is having in matches. As Mundo Deportivo has noted, there are several statistical measures that show that he truly is one of the best forwards in Europe.

A significant share of FC Barcelona’s attacking play flows through the young winger. Whether through dribbles, line-breaking passes, recoveries, crosses, or shots, Yamal consistently finds ways to shape the rhythm and direction of games. His involvement is not limited to decisive moments but extends across every phase of Barcelona’s attacking build-up.

One statistic in particular underlines his growing stature. Yamal averages an exceptional 100.52 involvements per 90 minutes, making him the only forward in Europe’s top leagues to surpass the 100 mark. The closest challengers are Michael Olise with 91.53 actions and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with 88.43, both well short of the Barcelona star’s influence.

The contrast with some of Europe’s biggest attacking names is striking. Players such as Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, and Harry Kane are far less involved in overall play, reflecting their more specialised finishing roles. Even so, regardless of position or function, no forward matches Yamal’s total contribution to his team’s play.

In terms of the end product, the teenager also compares favourably with Europe’s elite. Yamal averages 0.90 goals and assists combined per 90 minutes, placing him just below the continent’s most prolific contributors. Only Luis Díaz, Deniz Undav, Michael Olise, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, and Harry Kane post higher figures.

The dominance becomes even clearer at under 23 level. In that age bracket, Yamal leads Europe both in total involvements and in combined goals and assists. Jérémy Doku averages over 85 involvements per 90 minutes, while Martial Godo trails him in attacking output.

At just 18 years of age, Lamine Yamal still has considerable room for growth. Yet the data already paints a clear picture. Barcelona have a forward who influences matches more than any of his peers in Europe, a player whose impact extends far beyond goals and assists and whose best years are still ahead.
