The Transfer DealSheet opens 2026 with Manchester United’s stance after Ruben Amorim’s sacking, Manchester City’s move for Antoine Semenyo and the latest on Yan Diomande. According to NY Times, United did not plan January signings and Amorim’s exit is not expected to change that.

United saw Semenyo as a one-off tied to a left-wing need and a winter clause, so after he chose City they will wait for summer. Midfield is the priority, with Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba among costly options. Outgoings are unlikely. They want to keep Kobbie Mainoo, whose desire to leave is likely to soften after the head coach news, and they value Joshua Zirkzee.

Diomande is not available in January and a summer departure would take an exceptional offer near €100m. His deal runs to 2030 without a release clause. Leipzig’s sales typically meet valuation, so the chances of a January switch are small. Tottenham and United are among the admirers.

A year ago he was in Leganes’ B team. Within two months he reached the senior side, then earned a €30m move to Leipzig. He has a Bundesliga hat-trick, two goals for Ivory Coast and plays an Africa Cup of Nations knockout later tonight.

Semenyo is set to feature for Bournemouth at Tottenham on Wednesday night, after agreed outings against Chelsea and Arsenal, then his City move is expected to progress.

City are light in defence with Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and John Stones sidelined. They have recalled 20-year-old Max Alleyne from Watford and hold strong interest in Marc Guehi. Bournemouth admire Jamie Leweling but Stuttgart will not sell, while Brennan Johnson has joined Crystal Palace.
