We've all been there. Stood in a random bar and a tune drops that makes you exclaim 'that's a FIFA song!'

FIFA andEA Sports FC soundtracks have become a firm part of pop-culture, with avid players of the franchise unearthing new musical talent and tracks through association.

Music has a welcome habit of transporting us back to certain places and this list of bangers puts us right back in front of the console. Humming along, as you plot your next big Career Mode transfer, or deliberate between making your Pro Clubs character a miniature Messi or towering target-man.

Picking the ultimate FIFA songs is an impossible task but one we've tried to do anyway.

Fatboy Slim - Rockafeller Skank (FIFA 99)

Fans of a certain vintage might not be familiar with the work of Fatboy Slim, but the Brighton DJ was an unmissable presence across the turn of the millennium.

The Rockafeller skank is only Fatboy Slim's third-highest streaming song but it's the one imprinted in our minds for uplifting the FIFA franchise

Kasabian - LSF (FIFA 13)

Kasabian tracks have regularly been sampled by the EA Sports music men, but few spark nostaliga quite like LSF.

There's something about the rhythmic build-up that is classic Kasabian, whose Leicester-loving frontman Serge Pizzorno presumably deliberated hard between David Nugent and Jamie Vardy to lead his FIFA 13 Career Mode venture.

Gorillaz - 19-2000 (Soulchild remix) (FIFA 2002)

It's not too often that a remix becomes more popular than the original, but 19-2000 fits that bill. The positive electronic pop mix warmed the earholes of FIFA players during the early noughties.

Avicii - The Nights (FIFA 15)

The late Avicii left a legacy in music and 'The Nights' was a big hit for FIFA 15.

An uplifting pop classic, it resonated with a younger audience at a time when the FIFA franchise had firmly left long-term rival Pro Evolution Soccer in its wake.

The Stone Roses - Fool's Gold (FIFA 2004)

It's actually a surprise that it took EA Sports so long to include Fool's Gold on their soundtrack.

The 1989 anthem is a true classic and fit perfectly with the feel of FIFA 2004.

Blur - Song 2 (FIFA 98)

Song 2 has been attached to football ever since its release in the late-nineties Britpop phenomena.

The 'Woohoo' and unmistakable guitar is still played around football stadiums almost three decades after it's initial release, bringing the kind of energy that makes this a FIFA all-timer.

Dreaming - Smallpools (FIFA 14)

Picture the scene.

You've just got back from school and slammed down your bag, the smell of tea is cooking away in the oven. Mum's said you've got an hour. The squad are in the party and it's time for Pro Clubs promotion. Life is good - and then this anthem comes on.

We're not actually sure what Smallpools did other than 'Dreaming' but perhaps that makes this an even greater FIFA song.

Caesers - Jerk It Out (FIFA 2004)

We challenge you to put 'Jerk it Out' on full volume and not be immediately teleported to fond memories in front of a screen.

Arguably the best track from a terrific FIFA 2004 lineup, a game that hadPremier League royalty Thierry Henry, Barcelona baller Ronaldinho, and Italian icon Alessandro Del Piero as its stars.
