Girona FC is taking another step forward in its internationalisation strategy by holding its first international campus in the United States, specifically in Palmyra, in the state of Pennsylvania. The event takes place from 30 June to 4 July.

This initiative is part of the "Football Experiences" project, launched in 2022 with the aim of offering real and immersive experiences to footballers, coaches and teams from all over the world, giving them the opportunity to learn about the Club's methodology and structure from the inside.

The Palmyra campus is the result of the link established with the Iron Valley United club, through the Catalan agency Iberia Sports, after a group of players visited Girona. Now, this collaboration is taking shape with a campus that involves the participation of more than 90 boys and girls aged between 6 and 15, who are training with the same methodology used by the players of the Girona FC Academy.

Three professionals from the Red and Whites' Academy have travelled to the United States to lead the sessions: Abel Trias (Football 7-a-side coordinator), Òscar German (Cadet A coach) and Pau Pujols (Benjamin A coach). The final objective is to establish a solid base of international relations and invite the participants to live a "Girona Week" in November 2025, a complete experience at the Club's facilities, with training, education and attendance at a first team match at Montilivi.

Expansion in Asia

On the other hand, and consolidating its growth in Asia, Girona will carry out a tour of clinics in Japan between 4 and 9 August this year, with stops in the cities of Shizuoka, Yamanashi and Nagoya. Two of the Club's coaches will work with around a hundred young local players to transmit Girona's philosophy and values. This activity is part of the "Academy 360" programme, which from the 2022-2023 season, and with the collaboration of the Catalan agency TomoFootball, offers training camps in Girona. In addition, the Club has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Japanese company Shalf, which will be present as a sponsor of the Academy for three seasons and which, as part of the agreement, will promote these activities in Japan.

Commitment to sports tourism and cultural exchange

With these initiatives, Girona reinforces its position as a benchmark in sports tourism, promoting international football experiences that generate economic returns for the Club and the region. Girona is clearly committed to cultural and sporting exchange, as well as to a sustainable growth model with a global vocation, connecting Girona with the world through football.
