A group of Wolves fans who went to the 1986 World Cup in Mexico and never came back are the focus of “Lost Down Mexico Way”, released ahead of 2026.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the film follows Adder, Batesy, Rabbit Head and Arnie, plus their American friend Texas Steve, after a 10-minute taster became a near 40-minute festival cut.

The Disco Firm hailed from Stourbridge and Lye, with Arnie from Solihull and a Birmingham City fan. In Monterrey their partying drew curiosity, across the border Texans even mistook them for England players, and they met Steve Dawson, who became a lifelong friend.

The trip changed their lives. Gary Allen later built a company turning over 20 million dollars a year before retiring last year. Stuart Bates works in Houston’s car industry, David Arnold heads a school in Monterrey, and Garry Hardwicke became a painter before his death two years ago.

Shot in America and Mexico with Eight Engines, the film is on YouTube. More than 15 hours were recorded, and a series remains in development. The lads are identified only by nicknames, and early viewers see a vivid time capsule.

They still return to Britain to see family and watch Wolves and Birmingham City. A 40-year reunion is due at England’s game near Dallas on June 17, with another in Mexico. The film was timed for this year’s World Cup, and Gary remains quietly optimistic after Euro 2024 ended in defeat by Spain.
