Football League World has asked ChatGPT to reveal the worst away day in the Championship
For many football fans, there's nothing quite like an away day.
The chance to visit a different city and potentially tick off a new ground, the chance to follow your team around the country and the chance for an incredible day out, made even better if the team you support wins.
There are plenty of impressive stadiums in a variety of cities in the Championship, which make for a season full of incredible away days, but which ground ranks at the bottom?
The ground that, when the fixtures are released, you groan with the thought of having to go there at some point over the next nine months.
Football League World has asked popular AI-based service ChatGPT to outline what they think is the definitive worst away day in the second tier.
ChatGPT has singled out the Kassam Stadium, home of Oxford United, as the worst away day currently in the Championship.
The Yellows play at easily the most peculiar ground in the second tier, currently, with the stadium only having three stands. Unfortunately, that design quality doesn't enhance the fan experience, with AI stating that it "kills the atmosphere" in the ground.
Alongside stadium design, ChatGPT highlights the location of the ground in relation to the city centre as a massive drawback, too.
The Kassam Stadium is located a whopping 4.2 miles away from Oxford railway station, meaning those who travel to the game via train, which usually represents the vast majority of away fans, have a long journey still ahead of them to even get to the ground.
The poor public transport links are made worse by a lack of facilities around the ground, with few pubs nearby to enjoy your time in Oxford near the ground before the game starts.
And with only seven teams leaving the Kassam Stadium with all three points last season, not many fans can even say that their miserable day was made better by a winning performance on the pitch.
Last month, Oxford finally had its proposed 16,000-seater stadium granted planning permission by Cherwell District Council.
It was a big moment for the club, who have had to rent out the Kassam Stadium since it opened in 2001. Not only are they now set to own their ground, but the fan experience will be greatly improved, too, as the stadium will build on all the qualms mentioned previously.
The stadium will have stands in all four corners, which will help maintain the atmosphere throughout the game, and it will be built near Banbury Road on a piece of land known as The Triangle, which is just two miles away from Oxford railway station.
Having a ground closer to public transport links and the city centre as a whole will allow fans to enjoy spending time in Oxford before having to make the much shorter trip to the stadium. Then, a lively game covered by loud fans all around will make for a much more enjoyable experience.
