The WSL table of 2025: Which side is top, who has scored the most goals and which team has suffered a decline? | OneFootball

Following the conclusion of every Women’s Super League match this year, SheKicks takes a look at the calendar year table of 2025.

The table counts every WSL game that was played during 2025 and it reveals some shocking statistics, though there is no surprise when it comes to the team at the top of the standings.

Chelsea finish top of Women’s Super League calendar year table

Chelsea scored the most points out of any WSL team in 2025 to finish top of the calendar year table.

Sonia Bompastor’s side notched up 32 points between January and May, and a further 24 between September and December.

There is no surprises in the top four which is completed by Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United.

What the table highlights is the contrast between Manchester City’s average second-half to last season and their brilliant start to this campaign.

Manchester City took just 21 points out of a possible 36 in 12 games between January and May 2025. Since September, they have closed the gap from 11 points to just 5 on Chelsea in the overall calendar year table,  overtaking both Arsenal and Manchester United.

Arsenal are two points behind Manchester City for the calendar year, with Manchester United a further five points behind.

Women’s Super League table for 2025 calendar year

Chelsea took 56 points in 2025 and conceded just 13 goals

Although Chelsea took the most points in 2025, they are only fourth in terms of goals scored.

Chelsea (44) are behind Arsenal (65), Manchester City (60) and Manchester United (49).

Arsenal scored a rate of 2.82 goals per game, but were let down by a leaky defence across 2025.

Arsenal (31) conceded more goals than Manchester City (30), Manchester United (26) and Chelsea (13).

West Ham were the sixth top scorers in the WSL in 2025 with 33 goals, behind the top four and Aston Villa.

However, out of the sides that played 23 WSL games in 2025, no team conceded more than West Ham’s 46.

Aston Villa ‘best of the rest’ while Tottenham show improvement

Despite only sitting eighth in the standings this season, Aston Villa are best of the rest when it comes to the WSL calendar year table.

Villa are fifth on 29 points, ahead of Tottenham on goals scored. Tottenham are the most improved side from last season, taking 20 points in 11 games this season, after taking just nine points in 12 games between January and May.

Martin Ho’s side could improve further with the upcoming arrival of Signe Gaupset from SK Brann.

From seventh to ninth, there is just two points to separate Brighton, Everton and Leicester City.

Liverpool suffer decline in 2025

Liverpool and West Ham have suffered notable drops since the second half of last season.

From January to May, Liverpool were tied for fifth with Aston Villa on 16 points, just five behind Manchester City.

West Ham were just one place behind Liverpool, after taking 15 points from 12 games.

In their opening 11 matches of this campaign, West Ham and Liverpool have taken just five and three points respectively.

That led to Rehanne Skinner getting sacked by West Ham, and she has been replaced by Rita Guarino.

Pressure is growing on Liverpool head coach Gareth Taylor too, especially after their 9-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Women’s League Cup.
