In doing so, Dowman broke James Vaughan's record, which had stood for more than two decades. He's also oustedLamine Yamal to make the top five for the youngest goalscorers in Europe's top five leagues.

5. Fabrice Olinga (Malaga): 16 years and 98 days, 2012

Fabrice Olinga had a dream debut for Malaga after the teenager was called into the Malaga squad by Manuel Pellegrini.

As a substitute in theLa Liga opener at Celta Vigo, the Cameroonian scored the only goal of the game. It was the only goal he scored for the club before being released in 2014.

4. Lamine Yamal (Barcelona): 16 years and 87 days, 2023

Lamine Yamal has shattered records ever since his electric emergence atBarcelona, and it's likely that he will send more tumbling.

He scored his first goal against Girona to announce his arrival in 2023, and concluded that breakout campaign with seven goals, the Golden Boy awards, and European Championship success with Spain.

Yamal's meteoric rise has continued at a rapid pace. Runner-up for the Ballon d'Or in 2025, he's among the favourites for the prize this season. If successful, he'd be comfortably the honour's youngest ever recipient.

3. Max Dowman (Arsenal): 16 years and 73 days, 2026

Arsenal have struggled to keep a lid on the club's worst-kept secret this season. Dowman's dazzling pre-season performances thrust the teenager into the spotlight, and he became the second-youngest player inPremier League history at 15 years and 235 days, behind only his Arsenal teammate Ethan Nwaneri.

The 16-year-old has played just 43 minutes of Premier League football this season, but this weekend delivered a massive moment in the title race.

Arsenal had taken until the 89th minute to break down a stubborn Everton side before Dowman sealed the win in stoppage time with his history-making goal.

Youssoufa Moukoko was a name on everyone's lips after obliterating goalscoring records for Borussia Dortmund's youth sides.

The forward fired 141 goals in 88 matches for the German side's under-17 and under-19 teams, before being handed his first-team debut a day after his 16th birthday.

He later became the youngest debutant in the Champions League and the youngest scorer in theBundesliga, with an effort against Union Berlin seeing him surpass Florian Wirtz.

Moukoko was unable to build on that early promise and left Dortmund for Copenhagen in 2025, having scored 18 goals in 99 games.

1. Amedeo Amadei (AS Roma): 15 years and 287 days (1937)

An all-time great at AS Roma, Amedeo Amadei is the only player to score in a top-five league before his 16th birthday.

Amadei scored a consolation goal in defeat to AS Lucchese in May 1937, to set a new record that still stands today. It was one of 111 goals he scored for I Giallorossi, with
