Theo Hernandez says his AC Milan exit was forced and has ruled out a return while certain figures remain at the club. The France international left for Al Hilal after six years in Milan last summer.

"I deserved better treatment. I did not expect it. Some team-mates pushed me to stay, but when a director calls you and says 'if you stay I will take you out of the team', what can I do? I looked elsewhere. My priority was to stay," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Asked about going back to the Rossoneri, he said, "As long as certain people are still there, I will not return."

He also said the current hierarchy lacks milanismo, further underlining his dissatisfaction with the club’s direction.

On France team-mate Mike Maignan, out of contract in June with Milan, Hernandez added, "He has a similar situation to mine, and it did not end well."
