One player who has undoubtedly had a disappointing 24/25 season for Manchester City is Jack Grealish. He hasn’t been able to get going this campaign as injuries, poor form and fitness issues have crippled his season. It is currently unknown what the future holds for Grealish after this season. But until the summer arrives Grealish can help Manchester City achieve their goals to end a disappointing season. He showed yesterday during Manchester City’s 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth that he can play a role during the remainder of this season as he played a promising cameo in the game’s closing stages yesterday.

Jack Grealish replaced Phil Foden in the 69th minute of yesterday’s match. He was greeted with a warm embrace from Ruben Dias when he got on the pitch. That moment signified what Grealish means to his teammates. But from there, the England international got to work, and he showed that he can offer plenty over the closing stages of this season.

There was a willingness to get the Bournemouth defence in Grealish’s play yesterday. He took on the defenders and could and probably should have either scored or picked up an assist yesterday. There was an intent to Grealish’s play yesterday, and at times, that has been lacking in recent times. When Grealish is on he remains a devastating winger. We got a glimpse of that yesterday during the game’s closing stages.

Although it was only a cameo appearance of sorts from Jack Grealish it did show that he has a role to play in the closing stages of this season. Pep Guardiola’s side will need Grealish to play a role as they chase the FA Cup and Champions League qualification.

Jack Grealish showed yesterday that he isn’t a spent force and now the challenge is for him to continue to play with the intent and at the level he showed at the Vitality Stadium. If he does that consistently the England international could help Manchester City secure their goals this season.
