William Hill’s next permanent Rangers manager market remains a two-horse race at the top, with Steven Gerrard 5/4 and Sean Dyche now 6/4 after being clipped from 5/2 overnight.
Further back, Kevin Muscat follows the front two at 5/1, with Derek McInnes having shortened into 8/1 from 10/1. Ex-Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez (9/1) is ahead of German coach Danny Rohl (10/1), and Mark van Bommel is 10/1.
Previous Rangers interim manager Barry Ferguson is 14/1 to replace Russell Martin, with the Glasgow giants currently eighth in the William Hill Premiership.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Momentum is with Sean Dyche in what is shaping up to be a two-horse race to be named Rangers’ next permanent manager. Dyche has tightened to 6/4 from 5/2 and Steven Gerrard remains narrowly in front at 5/4, with both attracting interest from punters to take the vacancy with the William Hill Premiership strugglers.
“The liveliest moves outside the top two have been for club legend Barry Ferguson and former Wolves manager Gary O’Neil at double-figure prices; they’re our two worst results as of this morning.
“Meanwhile, support for Derek McInnes yesterday evening prompted a trim to 8/1 – he may be one to keep an eye on in the coming days.”
