‘They are a pleasure to watch’ – Real Betis boss makes honest admission about Hansi Flick’s Barcelona | OneFootball

Barcelona will close out their home campaign this weekend against Real Betis in a match that may not carry major consequences in the standings, but there is still plenty of excitement surrounding the fixture.

Barcelona have already secured the La Liga title, while Betis have successfully achieved their own objective by guaranteeing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League. 

Despite that, Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini believes supporters should still expect an entertaining contest between two sides that prioritise attacking football.

The Betis coach appeared before the media ahead of the clash and used the opportunity to praise the football Barcelona have produced under Hansi Flick this season.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Pellegrini acknowledged that both clubs have already completed their primary objectives for the campaign, but insisted that it would not affect the quality of the spectacle at the Camp Nou.

“Both teams have already achieved their objectives, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a good match. We are two teams that want to play a good game. 

“Barcelona has shown that they are a pleasure to watch play football. We have to try to finish the season in the best possible way, hopefully by getting points in Barcelona.”

The Chilean manager also highlighted the identity both sides have shown throughout the season, pointing towards the attacking mentality shared by Barcelona and Betis.

According to Pellegrini, the match should remain attractive because both teams naturally look to dominate possession and create chances rather than simply defend.

“It’s more difficult when the goal has already been achieved, because whether you like it or not, the tension decreases. 

“But too much tension also makes you make mistakes. All athletes always want to win and will always give 100%,” he concluded.
