Thiago Motta added to Rennes’ managerial shortlist | OneFootball

As reported by Foot Mercato, Habib Beye’s position at Stade Rennais is under threat. On a run of four straight draws, three of which have come against relegated sides and the other that came against an RC Lens side that played the whole 90 minutes with 10 men, the Breton club’s hierarchy are now sounding out the market.

In mid-table, Rennes’ hierarchy are desperate not to miss out on European football again, and they could pull the trigger on Beye. As per Foot Mercato, Philippe Clement, out of a job since leaving Glasgow Rangers, features on the shortlist to replace Beye. Les Rennais could offer the Belgian a return to management and a return to France, where he previously managed AS Monaco.

However, there is another name on the shortlist, that of Thiago Motta. As per Sacha Tavolieri, Rennes are considering an approach for the Italian, who has been out of work since leaving Juventus.

Motta was also recently linked with the Monaco job, before the Principality club turned to Sébastien Pocognoli, after reports emerged that Motta was not interested in the role.
